Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll (Cheung Fun)

Shrimp Noodle Roll served hot and faster than your average Dim Sum Lady.

This dish is one of my favorite dishes that you can get at Dim Sum. It is called Cheung Fun in Cantonese. However, many Asian cultures have their variations. This dish can be served as a snack or an entire meal. For me, I need to eat enough where it is an entire meal.

Today, I will be showing you MY hack to making it at home quickly. This is how I make it for myself at home whenever I want it quick! The most important ingredient is the microwave. This is what we will be cooking it in. THATS RIGHT A MICROWAVE!!!

All you need is very simple ingredients. It does not cook long at all in the microwave. I learned this method through trial and error. It depends on the heat of the microwave and consistency of the batter.

What is also key - the glass tupperware you use to cook the batter in. You need a microwave safe glass tupperware and fill enough batter at the bottom to wear it covers it just enough. Too much batter will cause a thick noodle. Too thin, will dry it out and cause tears.

If you’ve had this dish you’ll know that it is a common dish seen throughout Dim Sum restaurants and I can safely argue that it is one of the most popular well known Dim Sum dishes.

This dish is typically served during breakfast or brunch and paired with a delicious soy based sauce that is equally sweet and savory. These are best served fresh and hot! Let me know if you give it a try!
