Garlic Pepper Steak Surf and Turf
Stir frys are one of my favorite things to make because it is quick, easy, and delicious. I feel like a “stir fry” is a dish that many should know how to make because it can be a great entrée to toss in what you have the fridge to prevent food waste. For this recipe, I was heavily inspired by garlic pepper beef but wanted to make it better by adding in elements of land and sea. So, I came up with this delicious Garlic Pepper Steak Surf and Turf using ribeye steak and shrimp.
The key to a really tasty and delicious stir fry is cooking on high heat, quickly, and not overcrowding the pan. I like to make it in small batches or ensure that I have enough room in the wok to toss and flip the proteins and vegetables. Stir fry’s cook very quickly on high heat. So I recommend having all of your ingredients aligned and in order before tossing each ingredient into the wok.
The great thing about this dish is that you can make it how you want it. A little more salty or a little more sweet depending on your own taste buds. I like my stir fry very aromatic and super flavorful so I always add in extra garlic. My secret to this dish is to add some rice vinegar for a slight tang. In addition, I add my own garlic oil sauce which you can find here. You just might be making better Panda Express at home with this dish.
