Pad Kra Pao Stir Fry Basil
This dish is a staple in Khmer and Thai cuisine. Pad kra pao is a stir-fried minced meat that is spicy, salty, and super umami. It is so good with a bowl of steaming hot jasmine rice. What stands out about this dish is the aromatics and herbs that are put in it. The basil really grounds this dish and brings it to another level.
Ingredients
1 lb ground pork (or protein of choice)
5 garlic cloves
5 Thai chili
1 jalapeño
½ small onion
1 cup holy Thai basil
SAUCE INGREDIENTS:
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp water
Instructions
Mince your garlic, Thai chili and onion. Remove the seeds from your jalapeño and slice.
In a bowl, combine all your sauce ingredients.
In a hot skillet, add your chili and garlic until aromatic. Add onion and cook through. Add in pork and cook through. Add sauce and mix. Turn off heat and add in holy basil.
Serve with hot rice and Enjoy!
